New Year Retreat 30 December 2016 – 3 January 2017

Come and join us in the Quaker Community for an informal gathering over the New Year.

The programme will have a mixture of sessions, all optional depending on the wishes of those involved. There will also be ample opportunity to relax, chat or take personal free time.

The programme might include winter walks, art, craft and creative sessions,

sharing cooking, worshipping, eating and having fun together.

Or it could include more reflective sessions on the events of 2016 for us as individuals, in our communities and the world – to notice what has been good, what has been difficult, what have we learned, what we’re grateful for, and what we’d like to let go and what is our vision for ourselves, our communities, the world? Where will the New Year take us?

On New Year’s Eve we may hold a session round the wood burning stove in the shed on the land taking forward the light of the old year into the new at midnight on 31st December and /or sharing our gifts of storytelling, music, games, singing reading etc

You may want to bring writing or art materials, musical instruments (we have a piano, guitar and ukulele), a ‘party piece’ if you have one for a possible DIY session, offers of sessions you may like to hold, or suggestions for Epilogues.

To begin and end the day there will be twice daily Meeting for Worship.
