On many pages we state that this is wonderful walking country. And indeed there is a steady stream of walkers going past the house enjoying the Derwent Heritage Trail which runs from the source of the River Derwent in the bare hills above the nearby Ladybower reservoir, to its confluence with the River Trent south of Derby.
The hills and moors round about offer glorious views without the more strenuous demands of the peaks of the Lake District.
And here is the house in autumn splendour, as you see it from the short cut across the field to the bus stop, only you can hardly see it.
But we can still see out.
